Boone (the dog closest to his human) was adopted today, 27 February!!
Sweet boy Boone has finally hit the jackpot! Boone was one of the most severe neglect cases we've ever had. He had an embedded collar, lots of open wounds, and was severely emaciated when he landed at Aiken County Animal Shelter. Dr. Levy (at ACAS) did an amazing job removing the collar and patching him up and then donated to his treatment costs. Shelter Animals Advocates then took him and treated him for heartworms and hookworms. He's lived in an amazing foster home for the last few months, learning how to get love without peeing himself with excitement, and now it's all come together! He is finally in his forever home and this once neglected pup will only ever know love from now on! This is why we rescue. Let the heart beat on!

Hooray! Bolton (Onyx) was adopted today!
Bolton was heartworm positive and on death row. Raising Aid for Dogs At Risk - RADAR Dogs offered assistance with his funding, Shelter Animals Advocates The Heartbeat Goes On Campaign then pulled him and treated him for heartworms and hookworms. This sweet senior citizen was quickly adopted in September, but unfortunately, after several months in his home, his dad returned from his extended business trip to find out he was deathly allergic to Bolton! Although it broke his family's heart, poor Bolton had to come back to the rescue. He soon got another lucky break though and went to go stay in a nice lady's house where after two weeks of foster, he was adopted! His new mom and dad say that it's like he's always been there! Yay! Let the heart beat on!
10-29-16: Baratheon was heartworm positive and on death row at Aiken County Animal Shelter. Shelter Animals Advocates The Heartbeat Goes On pulled him and treated him for heartworms. This poor pup had been shot in the foot with a 22 before we got him, and because of how his body healed around it, we were unable to remove it. His new family surely doesn't mind though! They plan on taking him on trips to the river and lake (swimming is easier on the leg than long walks while still providing exercise) and providing lots of at home cuddle time! Today, 29 Oct, Baratheon has been officially adopted! Yay! Let the heartbeat go on!
10-29-16: Miss Bailey was heartworm positive and on death row at Aiken County Animal Shelter. Shelter Animals Advocates The Heartbeat Goes On pulled her and treated her and RADAR helped pay for her treatment. Miss Bailey was a shy pup that needed a little extra time to adjust to a new home environment, so she was fostered by her new family for two weeks to make sure she was comfortable. Here she is today, 29 Oct, with her sister Raja and her new mom as we finalized her adoption! Yay! Let the heartbeat go on!
10-16-16: Brienne (now Bella) was HW+ and on death row. Shelter Animals Advocates the Heart Beat Goes On saved her and then treated her for heartworms. Today, 16 OCT, she has a new home! Brienne was adopted by a lovely couple and has 3 new fur-siblings! She wouldn't stop wiggling and playing with them, so we got a picture of her just with her new mom. Let the heartbeat go on!
